ABOUT ME

David Curl is an award-winning screenwriter, speculative fiction writer, and content creator. He was captivated by the craft of writing since he read his first Stephen King novel in junior high. After attending the Chicago Comicon the summer of his high school graduation, he was hired for the first time to write stories for the comic book Dark Visions from Pyramid Comics. This led to more work with publishers Fathom Press and Northstar Studios on titles such as Blood Reign, Manga Monthly, and Northstar Presents: Ravage.

In 1994, he founded Storm Comics, a magazine publishing company that produced the series Ice Incorporated and other promotional comics for radio stations such as Rock 103.5 FM in Chicago. He was featured on the May 17, 1996 cover of the radio industry trade publication, R&R Magazine (Radio and Records). In 2000, David left publishing to pursue other creative interests. He started Mask Pro FX, a Halloween mask company, where he created latex nightmares for over ten years. By 2012, he was ready to attend Full Sail University and pursue a professional writing career.

In September 2014, David graduated in the Creative Writing for Entertainment B.F.A. program as class Valedictorian. His short scripts, "There's Something Wrong With R0807," and "Noble Rot," were published in the university literary magazine The Aviator, while another, "The Quiet Cosmos," was featured in the Full Sail Comic Book Anthology, published in December 2014. His script for the short film “War Apes” won the Snow Globe Award for Best Screenplay in 2012. David lives in rural Illinois and is working on a revamp of the 1990s comic series Blood Reign, and the Dinosaur of the Dead graphic novel.
